WMKC write up - Round 7

Round 7 of the 2021 Whilton Mill Kart Club season saw three X Kart drivers head to the Northamptonshire circuit, as Jacob Jukes, Kai Bachini and William Young would again go up against tough competition in Daventry.

With random grids for every driver over the course of the three heats, the drivers would make steady progress, but it would not be an easy day behind the wheel.

Jacob would again show good speed over the course of the day, and would make up multiple places in each of the three heats. He would end up being so close to taking a podium in the final, finishing in fourth place just over a tenth behind the #37 of Jessica White.

"It’s our best finish here so far and I’m happy for the team to get so close to the podium. We had a few issues through the day with the power so that was frustrating, but overall a good result considering the problems we had."

Kai Bachini, who was making his return to competition for the first time in three months, was excited to get back racing at Whilton. The #14 would be back on the pace and looking rather competitve all day long, but some incidents saw him drop down the order in several of the races. He would end up finishing 11th in the final.

"The results during the day aren't a true reflection of the pace I had at Whilton, despite being out of the kart after a busy three months. Can't thank the team enough for all their support, along with it always being so much fun in the awning. I'm looking forward to the next one."

It was a tough weekend for the #122 of Will Young, as he has shown great improvement over the course of the 2021 season. But he is a big credit to the team, his fellow racers and even having had a difficult set of results, we at X Kart know that he will be back at full force for Round 8.
